Well I finally feel like I am coming out of my first trimester fog! I am enjoying my days and my girls again instead of being sick on the couch! Kate is full of smiles and giggles and we love watching the girls play together. Kate loves baths, tickles, and flying in the air. Natalie just started her first dance class... what a bunch of cuties! She likes to dance on her toes and march around the house. We are so blessed!

Just have to laugh
Whew! What a crazy past few days we've had around here. These girls sure keep us busy.
Jake took me out Saturday night for my birthday and we had such a wonderful time! I think it was the first time we have been out together since Kate came along. My awesome parents babysat for us. Kate was a little fussy after getting her vaccines, but they all survived! We went to California Pizza Kitchen, one of our new favorite places now, then the Chocolate Bar (yum!). We talked about how much we were looking forward to our Sunday morning of sleeping in, getting the girls in bed with us and enjoying a nice breakfast. Well Sunday did NOT go that peacefully! Let's just say Natalie took her diaper off sometime in the early morning hours and I think I heard that horror-movie movie music when I walked into her room. Later that day we REALLY thought we were going to make it to church... we were all dressed and everything. Then the girls decided to rebel. Kate is screaming like she's on fire, and Natalie raids the pantry. She dumps not one, but two full bags of tortilla chips on the floor then proceeds to dance on them. Jake and I both come around opposite corners and discover this at the same time and ask, "Where were you???" We are all sweaty from running around getting ready and an air conditioner that is not working well, Natalie is eating chips off the floor, and Kate is still screaming. Then I mention that we all need to eat something before we go, but of course I had not made it to the grocery store that week, so we literally have nothing to eat (unless you count the tortilla chips). All we can do is laugh at this point, because it's that or pull our hair out. So we conclude that we will NOT be making it to church that evening. So Jake and Natalie go grab some dinner while Kate and I calm down and clean up. Later, we ate our Taco Bell in peace while watching the live webcast of church. Maybe we will make it back there one day. Taco Bell proved to be a mistake for the Traylor girls the next day. Pretty much I summed it up as the "crappiest day of my life!" Ha. BUT it was made much better since I got many phone calls, flowers, a nice dinner, and gifts for my b-day.

COOKIE!
So Natalie is a little obsessed with cookies... just like her Mama. Gave her one last night and the sugar high was the most entertaining thing Jake and I have ever seen. She literally ran around the house in circles and jumped liked a crazy person on her trampoline for 30 min. Way better than any sitcom.

Motherhood
So the last couple days have been a little crazy. To sum it up: breast infection, baby with a blowout, baby throw up, toddler locked in bathroom, soiled couch cushion, stained clothes, house that smells like death, late to dr's appt. All this occurred yesterday before my morning coffee. Ah memories.

2 under 2
Well today is my first day solo with the two girls. I was a little anxios last night... felt like the first day of school. I kept wondering if I could do it. The two weeks with Jake home full time was hard! But we are over halfway through the day and we are all still alive. Maybe there were some tears from all three of us before noon, but hey... we're women.
I'm a little amazed I have time to sit and blog right now. But I want to preserve my memories because I know this time will go by so quickly. So what if my sink is full of dishes? They will still be there when I'm done writing. :) Currently, Natalie is outside playing with chalk and riding in her car. Kate is sleeping on me wrapped up tight in my Moby Wrap. Marie gave this to me when Natalie was born and I used it occasionally with her. I think I'll be using it A LOT with Kate. She likes to be held. :)
So last night I didn't sleep for more than an hour at a time. Hence the tears this morning... just from exhaustion. But I was able to take a quick nap around 12:30. Then I made A LOT of coffee. It's gonna be my new bff.
I am still so much in AWE of how good Natalie is. I put her down early for a nap and she went down with out any complaints... and slept long!! Not sure if this is a result of my "sleep training" her early on or if she is just an incredibly compliant child. Either way, what a blessing she is! She doesn't seem to be bothered by Kate's crying either. She is concerned and wants to hold and kiss Kate to make her feel better. If only it were that easy! She gives it a good shot for about 20 seconds and then runs away when Kate is still wailing! pretty cute
We had such a wonderful two weeks with Jake home. I absolutely love watching him with the girls. He is so fun with Natalie... always making her giggle and squeal. And so careful and gentle with Kate. He was a super husband too- letting me go back to sleep while he got up every morning with Natalie. We miss him today! Not because of all he did, but because we like him so darn much. I told him he might come home to a bald wife tonight, and he said that was okay. What a guy.
